Events

For us raising funds in the community serves two purposes. It not only raises much needed money to support our work, but it also raises our profile, ensuring that LGBT people are aware that our support is available to them.

There are lots of way you can help us raise funds in the community.

  • You can volunteer to join us on bucket shake around your “locals”
  • You can ensure your local venue has a LLGS collection tin
  • You can organise an event at your local venue
  • You can support our HIV prevention work by joining our “Walk for Life” team


Events

If you would like to organise a fundraising event on behalf of LLGS that would be great. We can even set up your own events page so you can collect donations and see how you are doing. For more information contact the office.

Bucket shakes

We hold regular bucket shakes in LGBT venues across London, where a small team of volunteers take a leisurely stroll around the local LGBT venues encouraging customers to support our work by throwing their coppers or notes in our buckets.

This is an amazing opportunity to not only raise funds, but raise awareness and talk to people about our work. This is an easy way to volunteer as most people on the scene are very supportive of our work and it is an empowering opportunity to listen to some of their experiences of LLGS.

In addition you also get to share a beer or two with a great group of our volunteers and make new friends.

Collection tins

Put a LLGS collection tin on the bar of your venue telling your customers that you want to support the LGBT community.

It's easy to arrange - email us today and a volunteer will deliver your collection tin as soon as we can.

The tin can be locked into place so you don't have to worry about it's security.

We will do the hard work for you, as a volunteer will come to your venue to empty the tin on a regular basis, leaving you with none of the hassle of dealing with all those pennies. However those pennies, when added up, do make a significant difference to us.
